Smoked Fish Kashmir's Winter Delicacy
SRINAGAR,INDIAN CONTROLLED KASHMIR, INDIA - JANUARY 20: Kashmiris woman make prepare smoked fish over slow-burning grass on January 20, 2016 in Srinagar, the summer capital of Indian controlled Kashmir, India. Smoked fish or 'pharri' as they are called in local parlance are prepared by smoking over slow-burning grass and sold by members of the Tippli community living on the banks of the Aaanchar lake in Srinagar. Although their sale has gone down during the recent years due to round-the-year availability of vegetables, smoked fish still remain a part of the Kashmiri winter cuisine.
