Jewish groups hold menorah lighting to call for a ceasefire in Gaza

People light menorahs at a Chanukah event hosted by pro-ceasefire Jewish organizations in front of the White House. They called for a ceasefire and Palestinian freedom, while President Joe Biden hosted a celebration inside. Biden has steadfastly refused to call for a ceasefire despite the fact that Israeli has killed nearly 18,000 Palestinians since October 7, 2023, in its retaliatory bombing campaign.
