Members of the Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN) are carrying out rounds at El Caracol Rebeldia y Resistencia in the mountains of southeast Mexico, in the area of Dolores Hidalgo, Chiapas, on the occasion of the 30th Anniversary of the Zapatista uprising. The uprising, which was a 12-day rebellion led by the EZLN, began on January 1, 1994, in the state of Chiapas and gained international attention for its demands for justice and the rights of Mexico's indigenous peoples.
