Girls And Boys Deliver Letters To "Wise Men" In Mexico City
Boys and girls are currently being trained at the facilities of the Postal Palace in the Zocalo of Mexico City to deliver letters to the Three Wise Men. They believe they ''will receive a response from the Star of Bethlehem, which will be delivered to the door of their homes by the Mexican Postal Service.'' According to tradition, the Gospel of Saint Matthew mentions that ''wise men'' from the East were guided by a star to worship the newborn king of the Jews. The names Melchior, Gaspar, and Balthasar were first recorded in the 6th-century mosaic in the Basilica of Saint Apollinaris the New in Ravenna, Italy. (Photo by Gerardo Vieyra/NurPhoto)
