Tawur Kesanga Ritual Ahead Nyepi Celebration
Balinese Hindu devotees are putting rice on their faces as they participate in the Tawur Kesanga ritual at the Parahyangan Agung Pasundan temple in Bekasi district, West Java, on March 10, 2024. During the Tawur Kesanga ritual, Balinese Hindus worship and parade Ogoh-ogoh, effigies that represent demons or bad traits, which will then be burned as a symbol of victory over evil.
