Nepal Opposition Hit Street Demanding Resignation Of Home Minister Over Cooperative Frauds

Senior Nepali Congress leaders, the largest party in the Nepal parliament and the major opposition, are sitting on the road in Kathmandu, Nepal, on May 26, 2024, taking part in a protest demanding the resignation of Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane. The Congress is demanding the formation of a parliamentary investigation committee to investigate the misappropriation of cooperative funds, which also involves Home Minister Lamichhane. Home Minister Lamichhane is accused of embezzling a large amount of cooperative funds when he was the managing director of Gorkha Media, and other people are also being accused of their involvement in such misappropriations.
