Tragic government plane crash still devides Polish
People are seen, in Bydgoszcz, Poland, on April 9, 2016 commemorating the crash of the government Tupolev aircraft in Smolensk, Russia on April 10, 2010 which killed several dozen prominent government officials including then president Lech Kaczynski. The delegation was on its way to a commemoration of Polish nationals killed by Russian secret police during the second world war called the Katyn massacre. Theories of the cause of the crash in Smolensk has been rife with conspiracy theories and is often abused by the current conservative PiS party to start investigations against officials from the rival, centrist PO party.
