On September 30, 2024, in Tehatta, West Bengal, India, Trichomyrmex destructor ants were observed crawling around a moth's cocoon, which contained a pupa formed under a leaf. Inside the pupa, a caterpillar was undergoing metamorphosis into its adult form. Trichomyrmex destructor, commonly known as the Singapore ant or Destructive Trailing Ant, is notorious for attacking people and animals, as well as causing property damage.
