Demonstration “Justice For Odair Moniz / No Justice, No Peace” In Lisbon
In Lisbon, Portugal, on October 26, 2024, a man prays before an improvised memorial with the picture of Odair Moniz at Praca dos Restauradores monument at the end of a march. They protest the death of Cape Verdean immigrant Odair Moniz, a resident of the Zambujal neighborhood, who is fatally shot by a police officer on October 21 in Cova de Moura following a car chase and reported resistance during detention. The rally, organized by Moniz's family, neighborhood groups from Bairro do Zambujal, the ''Vida Justa'' and other social and anti-racist organizations, calls for justice and an end to police violence in the neighborhoods.
