Seoul Launches Trial Runs Of Han River Ferry As Eco-Friendly Transit Option
A Han River Bus departs for Jamsil from Ttukseom Pier in Gwangjin District, Seoul, South Korea, on July 1, 2025, as the city launches its trial service for the new water transit system. The service operates with electric and hybrid diesel-electric vessels, connecting seven piers--Magok, Mangwon, Yeouido, Oksu, Apgujeong, Ttukseom, and Jamsil--along a 31.5-kilometer route. The vessel accommodates up to 199 passengers. Official service is scheduled to begin in September, with public trial rides held every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday through August 30.
