Gay pride parade in Kiev
Tens of Thousands of people from across Poland attended the 15th annual Equality Parade in Poland's capital city, Warsaw, on 11 June 2016. Organizers of the parade claimed that thousand people turned out, breaking a new record. The parade's 12 demands include the right for all couples to be able to marry, betters rights and protection for all transgender individuals, stronger legislation against hate crime and hate speech, as well as better sexual education in Polish schools and nondiscrimination classes for young Poles. The parade also demanded there be a more welcoming attitude towards refugees and foreigners in Poland. When it first started, the parade was mostly about LGBT rights, but since then, has grown into a movement calling on absolute openness, acceptance and tolerance for all minorities in Poland.
