Lighting the Way National speak out: The path forward on gun violence

On Thursday, July 14, on the West Lawn of the United States Capitol, hundreds of supporters gather, with Rep. John Lewis (D-GA), Asst. Democratic Leader James E. Clyburn (D-SC), members of the Congressional Black Caucus, and members of the House Democratic Caucus, hosted a rally in support of common sense gun control legislation. Victims and families of victims of gun violence spoke, and they specifically called to task House Speaker Paul Ryan, U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell, and Republicans for refusing to vote and that they're controlled by the National Rifle Association. They held signs that said #disarmhate, and #lightingtheway, ending with a lighting ceremony. (Photo by Cheriss May/NurPhoto)
