74-year-old Woman Fatally Stabbed And 72-year-old Woman Injured In Stabbing Attack Inside 1700 Bedford Avenue

Members of the NYPD Crime Scene Unit collect two scissors as evidence and process the crime scene where a 74-year-old woman is fatally stabbed and a 72-year-old woman is injured in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, New York, United States, on March 22, 2026. On Saturday evening, at approximately 10:27 PM, police respond to 1700 Bedford Avenue, within the confines of the 71 Precinct, and discover a 74-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds to the head and arms, and a 72-year-old woman with stab wounds to the back and arm. EMS transports the 74-year-old victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Kings County, where she is pronounced dead. The 72-year-old victim is taken to the same hospital in stable condition. A person of interest is taken into custody at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending family notification.
