Police Searching For 2 Men After US Park Police Officer Shot In Southeast DC
Members of the crime scene unit and U.S. Park Police work at the scene where a U.S. Park Police officer was shot in Southeast Washington, D.C., United States, on March 24, 2026. The officer was shot while inside an unmarked vehicle on the 5000 block of Queens Stroll Place SE, around 7:30 p.m. Monday, according to Park Police officials. U.S. Park Police were in the area investigating an earlier incident. Park Police state the officer was working undercover in a white Tesla when two suspects fired at his moving vehicle. The Metropolitan Police Department interim chief reports the officer was the only person in the car and drove himself about a half mile from Queens Stroll Place SE to Benning Road SE near its intersection with Southern Avenue.
