Nepali Congress To Hold General Convention On September After Party’s Defeat In The Parliamentary Elections

Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa presents a proposal to hold the party's 15th general convention from Bhadra 24 (September 9) to Bhadra 26 (September 11) during the central working committee meeting at the party central office in Sanepa. The schedule includes launching a special campaign from the first week of April to update active membership, distributing active membership in all 6,743 wards from mid-April 2026, and sending membership to distribution centers by June 14, 2026. The center plans to finalize the membership after necessary investigation by June 29, 2026. The updated active members' name list is to be submitted to the central election committee by July 16, 2026, with a municipal level convention scheduled for July 22, 2026.
