Police Searching For 2 Men After US Park Police Officer Shot In Southeast DC

Members of the Crime Scene Unit and federal agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) remove evidence during the execution of a search warrant after a U.S. Park Police officer is shot in Southeast Washington, D.C., United States, on March 24, 2026. The officer is shot while inside an unmarked vehicle on the 5000 block of Queens Stroll Place SE, around 7:30 p.m. Monday, according to Park Police officials. U.S. Park Police are in the area investigating an earlier incident. Park Police state the officer is working undercover in a white Tesla when two suspects open fire at his moving vehicle. The Metropolitan Police Department interim chief reports the Park Police officer is the only person in the car and drives himself about a half mile from Queens Stroll Place SE to Benning Road SE near its intersection with Southern Avenue. Darren Foster, 21, and Asheile Foster, 22, both of Southeast Washington, D.C., are arrested for shooting a U.S. Park Police officer on Queens Stroll Place SE.
