Russian drone hits maternity hospital in Odesa
A corridor in Maternity Hospital No. 5 is damaged in Odesa, Ukraine, on March 28, 2026. On the night of March 28, a Russian UAV strikes the hospital, which houses 22 newborn babies, including critically low-birth-weight twins. The hospital's bomb shelter, equipped with intensive care facilities for newborns, allows ventilation to continue there. Postoperative patients are transferred to the intensive care unit in the shelter. Before rescuers arrive, doctors use fire hoses and extinguishers to put out fires in the building and on the roof. As a result of the incident in the city, two people are killed and at least 12 are injured, including a nine-year-old boy. (Photo by Nina Liashonok/Ukrinform/NurPhoto)
