MOHAMMAD ABDUL AZIZ refugee from Sudan still waiting for his country of destination after waiting for almost two years as refugee in Jakarta, Indonesia, on 26 August 2016 . Currently, there are approximately 13,679 (UNHCR, January 2016) asylum seekers and refugees living in Indonesia. On top of this, there are many asylum seekers that have not yet been registered with UNHCR. Living as a refugee in Indonesia, individuals face many problems. Unable to work, get an education, receive access to social services or have freedom of movement, due to restrictions from the Indonesian Government, asylum seekers and refugees essentially live a life of exile.
