Daily life in Jamuna
Feature photos of rural daily life in Bangladesh in the Jamuna river area on 5 September 2016. After the flood a local non-profitable organization come to distribute relief to moldighi village. For the first time of this season they haven't received any. Even they spent two single days without any food during the flood which occurred two weeks before. A group of people of Moldighi were waited for the distribution. Shariyakandi is affected area by natural disasters each year, a northern part of Bangladesh. As it locates beside one of the largest rivers of Bangladesh, more than 30 villages in those area went under water in the middle of august. Flood and river erosions are commonly seen there. Locals said, "Most of the people go to serve relief on the dams whereas we are deprived because we live in the middle of jamuna river." It's tough to transport to remote islands through the stormy weather of jamuna so that, few of organizations reach to them. A local club went to Moldighi village with small amount relief for the first time. All of them were not happy and complained as it's not enough for a family. (Photo by Masfiqur Sohan/NurPhoto)
