Women's March In Amsterdam

Demonstrators during the Women's March in Amsterdam on 21January 2017 in supporting the Washington's Women March with thousands of people demonstrating in the Museumplein where the American consulate is situated. 2017 marks the 20th anniversary of the 1997 Million Women March, a mobilization started by Dr. Phile Chionesu. There are 32 countries participating with 62 marches outside of the US. While the marches have been inspired by the Women’s March on Washington, they are being organized by volunteers at the local level and each will have its own programming. The Women’s March on Washington will send a bold message to our new administration on their first day in office, and to the world, that women’s rights are human rights.
