Funeral ceremony of Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman in Egypt

Relatives and friends of Sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman, who was convicted of plotting terror attacks in New York City in the decade before 9/11, carry his coffin after funeral prayers at the Grand Mosque, in the Nile Delta town of Gamalia, Egypt, Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017. Abdel-Rahman, the so-called Blind Sheikh, was arrested in 1993 and convicted in 1995 along with nine followers of a conspiracy to blow up the United Nations and several New York landmarks. A symbol for radical Islamists, he had been serving a life sentence in a U.S. prison when he died on Saturday. (Photo by Fayed El-Geziry/NurPhoto)
