Hindu Temple In Sri Lanka

Ancient wooden sandals with nails on the inside that were used by Hindu devotees during special rituals are displayed inside the museum at the historic Nainativu Nagapooshani Amman Hindu Temple (Nainativu Nagapooshani Amman Kovil) on Nainativu Island in the Jaffna region of Sri Lanka. This ancient temple is a significant symbol for the Tamil people and is dedicated to Parvati who is known as Nagapooshani or Bhuvaneswari and her consort, Shiva who is named here as Nayinaar.
