Istanbul Pride Parade 2019

The LGBTI+ community and their supporters celebrate the Istanbul Pride on 30 June, despite the ban declared by Istanbul authorities. Earlier today, the police blockaded Istiklal Avenue, the street in which the parade was planned to take place. Since 2015, Istanbul authorities have banned transgender and gay pride marches and people were attacked by the police, citing security concerns.
