Payday Loan Companies Criticised by the Financial Conduct Authority
The Money Shop, a provider of payday loans, trading in Stockport on Tuesday 10th March 2015. -- Payday loan companies have been criticised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). The FCA, a body which regulates the UK's financial sector, has found that '60 per cent of the market revealed unacceptable practices from many lenders, including failures to recognise customers in financial difficulty, failure to direct people to free debt advice and firms offering inflexible repayment options' according to an FCA statement.
