Moria Official And Makeshift Refugee Camp From A Drone
Moria refugee camp in Lesvos Island near Moria village near Mytilene town in Greece. Aerial panoramic view from a drone of the official camp and the makeshift tents of the settlement. It is estimated as today, that 24.000 people live in the area while the official camp is designed for less than 3.000. Migrants call the camp living hell or jungle in the nearby hills olive grove living without basic facilities like access to running water, heat or electricity. Violent incidents occur every day. The majority of the people living in the inhumane conditions are from Afghanistan. Refugees arrive every day from Turkey in dinghies increasing the number of people needing shelter but they can't leave the island, while Greece prepares Closed Detention Centers. Moria refugee camp is the largest in Europe, it works as a hotspot for Europe, where asylum seekers register. February 18, 2020 - Moria, Lesvos Island, Greece (Photo by Nicolas Economou/NurPhoto)
