Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day - 105 Years
Nerses Ketikian, a priest in the Armenian evangelical church is seen paying his respects at the monument of the Armenian genocide in Varna, Bulgaria with his daughter Araksi. 24 of April is the world day for remembering the victims of the Armenian genocide from 1915 when more than 1.5 million Armenians were killed by the Ottoman Empire. Today Turkey still refuses to accept any responsibility for these events. As of 2020 the Armenian genocide is recognized by 32 countries. Priest Ketikian says that on 24th of April and on every other day he remembers the sacrifice that his ancestors had made, so that all Armenians today can live free and profess their Christian fate. We need to remember what happened so that it wont happen again, says Ketikian, Varna, Bulgaria on April 24, 2020 (Photo by Hristo Rusev/NurPhoto)
