Air Quality Deteriorates In New Delhi
A view of ITO & Delhi Secretariat on a hazy day as air quality deteriorates in the capital, at Laxmi Nagar, on October 12, 2020 in New Delhi, India. The national capital witnesses a spike in the levels of air pollution almost every year during winter due to various conditions including construction activity and the stubble burning in neighbouring states. In view of air quality in Delhi-NCR hitting 'poor' level, a Supreme Court mandated body on October 8 announced implementation of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) from October 15 and a ban on the use of diesel generators, except for essential and emergency services in Delhi and neighbouring region.
