Hindu Goddess Durga Immersion

Immersed Goddess Durga in the river Brahmaputra on the last day of the Hindu festival Durga Puja in Guwahati, India, 26 October 2020. The last day of the festival is called Vijay Dashmi with Vijaya meaning 'victory' and Dashmi meaning 'tenth'. Durga Puja is widely celebrated in the Indian states of West Bengal, Assam, Jharkhand, Orissa and Tripura and culminates in the immersion of the idols of Hindu goddess Durga, who symbolizes power and the triumph of good over evil in Hindu mythology.
