Trial Of Three Climate Activists Of ANV-COP21 For Taking Down Portraits Of Macron

A man holds upsidedown portraits of French President Macron. Members and activists from the NGO ANV-COP21 (ie Non Violent Action-Cop21) gathered in front of the Courthouse of Toulouse for the trial of three people accused of taking down portraits of French President Macron inside the townhall of Merenvielle near Toulouse in 2019. They wanted to denounce the 'inaction' of Macron against climate change and against the biodiversity crisis. They could be fined up to €75,000 and five years in jail. The prosecutor has asked for a probation fine of €200. Genevieve Azan (economist) and Christophe Cassou (member of the IPCC and the CNRS) were there to testify the realities of the climate crisis.
