Gatheing of the tobacco has started in Bulgaria

A woman collects tobacco leaves near the village of Mustrak, Svilengrad, Bulgaria on July 21, 2015 This year's gatheing of the tobacco has started in the villages in the Bulgarian border region of Svilengrad. The field workers start gathering at 5 am in the morning at finish work at noon. It is astimated that each year Bulgaria produces 50 000 tons of different tobacco. They are sold at the local and the international markets. According to the offial figures 60 000 people make their living from tobacco, although un official figures are double. Almost 2/3 of the tobacco grown in Bulgaria is oriental. It is grown in the Eastern parts of Rhodope mountain. It is expected this year's production to be sold at local and international markets. The price for a kilo of tobacco is expected to be 5 leva - 2,5 euro which according to field workers is extremely low on July 21, 2015 (Photo by Hristo Rusev/NurPhoto)
