Victams who got disabled several accidents occurd in Tosa Maidan during a protest demonstration agenst leas extension to the Indian army in Srinagar in indian Kashmir on April 18.2014.63 people have been killed and many others disabled in several accidents related to unexploded shells littered on the meadow’s slopes. All the victims belong to the villages around Tosa Maidan.A magnificent meadow in Budgam district of Jammu & Kashmir has become a bone of contention between local residents and the army. Tosa Maidan was leased to the army in 1964 for setting up an artillery firing range. With the 50-year lease about to ended to day on 18 april 2014, the locals are up in arms against its extension.
