Residents of the community of San Juan de las Huertas in the municipality of Zinacantepec, State of Mexico, denounced that the real estate company did not present a permit to cut down the trees, and asked state and federal authorities to intervene. The white cedar is native to Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala, in temperate forests, and is used as a windbreak and medicinal tree.
