UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres discusses work needed to institute measures to protect information integrity, at the United Nations Headquarters on June 24, 2024 in New York City. Secretary Gurterres discussed the current shortcomings of information protection and actions that governments and businesses need to take. Guterres went on to say that advertising companies must control their media algorithms that lead to misinformation, sexual harassment and hate speech on social media all the while protecting journalists.

Elon Musk is seen taking part in a conference organised by the European Jewish Association (EJA) in Cracow, Poland on 22 January, 2024. Earlier that day he visited the Nazi death camp in Auschwitz. Elon Musk also spoke about hate speech on social media and said that the X platform, formerly known as Twitter has the least amount of anti-Semitism of all platforms specifically TikTok which he says has five times more hate speech than X, according to Musk.
