The wax apple (Syzygium samarangense) known as Java apple, Semarang rose-apple, and wax jambu is a tropical fruit that belongs to the genus Syzygium in the family Myrtaceae and is mostly cultivated in Malaysia. The Malaysian climate is suitable for wax apple production but there is increasing concern about the fruit growth, development, and quality of wax apple, a widely cultivated fruit tree in South East Asia. The growth and development of this fruit are sometimes very low due to low photosynthates supply at early growth stages. Wax apple is popular in Southeast Asia and produces red, pink, and green fleshy fruits known as 'Masam manis pink' and 'Jambu madu red' etc. The fruits are eaten raw with salt or cooked as a sauce. Myrtaceae plants are mostly used as medicinal plants for the treatment of bronchitis, asthma, diabetes mellitus, and inflammation syndromes. In addition, the plants' extracts have potent free radical scavenging, antioxidation, antimutation, and anticancer activities, anti-inflammation and antinociceptive activity, wound healing activity, antiulcerogenic effect, antibacterial, anticancer, and also it's potential as a uterotonic agent. Local villagers take photos as Mount Merapi spews pyroclastic flow as the volcanic activity increases from Tunggularum village, Sleman district in Yogyakarta, Indonesia on April 29, 2023. Merapi is located in one of the most densely populated parts of Java with over 11,000 people living on the slopes of the mountain. Mount Merapi, measuring 2,968 metres high, is known as one of the most active volcanoes in Indonesia, with an eruption occurring every two to five years.

Indonesian Navy officers fill oxygen cylinders in the warship KRI dr Soeharso-990 which docks at the Tanjung Emas port, Semarang, Central Java Province, Indonesia on July 28, 2021. The oxygen is then distributed to overcome the lack of oxygen for hospitals treating Covid-19 patients in the Semarang and surrounding areas . KRI dr Soeharso-990 has the ability to refill oxygen up to 150 thousand liters of oxygen within 24 hours.
