Claudia Sheinbaum, head of government of Mexico City, is dancing typical dances of the State of Oaxaca, Mexico, on June 06, 2023, during a conference on the occasion of the activities and celebration of the Guelaguetza taking place in the Zocalo of Mexico City as part of the activities in its 2023 edition. The Guelaguetza has its origins in pre-Hispanic times, and it is worth mentioning that this festivity began with a ritual that was performed to the ancient gods in a place called by the Zapotecs as Daninayaaloani or hill of beautiful view.
