Group of three young asylum seekers walking up to a hill as they return from their attempt to cross the borders. Asylum Seekers are trying to cross the Greek-North Macedonian borders to follow the Balkan Route, famous in 2015-2016 during the Syrian refugee crisis, from Idomeni, Greece to Gevgelija, North Macedonia following the train rails and railway station and then reach central and northern Europe. Refugees and Migrants are seen walking in the fields in the Greek side, before the fence that separates the two countries, trying to reach and pass the borders. The small groups are mostly male dominated from Afghanistan, newcomers who began their trip after the Taliban takeover of the country. Among them people from Syria, Pakistan and Iran have been spotted. Asylum seekers claimed that they crossed the border into N. Macedonia but police captured them, beat them and deported them back to Greece, an illegal push back action as they claim. Idomeni, Greece on October 6, 2021
