Gen-Z leader Miraj Dhungana announces the formation of a political party to enter the mainstream politics of Nepal during a press conference in Kathmandu, Nepal, on October 18, 2025. Dhungana rises to prominence following the Gen-Z movement. He is claimed to be the one who runs the online campaign for the September 8 protest. While confirming his intention to establish a political party, Dhungana says the official name of the party has not yet been decided. He adds that his group plans to seek suggestions from voters and the general public before finalizing the name. The Gen-Z movement, which draws widespread attention earlier this year, sees young activists like Dhungana demanding greater accountability, generational change, and transparency in Nepal's politics. His move into formal politics appears to be an attempt to channel that energy into an organized platform.

16 May 2025

The construction site of the A69 in Castres, Tarn, is not yet complete in terms of levelling works and highway structures. The Administrative Court of Toulouse has decided to suspend all works on the A69 highway project between Toulouse and Castres. In response, NGE/Atosca has filed an appeal against this decision and requested the Court to allow the works to continue while the appeal is being judged. Two senators and two MPs from the Tarn department have proposed a retroactive law to authorize the construction of the A69, aiming to bypass the decision of the Administrative Court of Toulouse. Atosca claims that all levelling works have begun and that more than 70% of highway structures are completed. However, the actual progress of levelling works and highway structures does not match the figures provided by Atosca. Additionally, several issues, such as water evacuation and species protection, have affected the work. The main association opposing the project, 'La Voie est Libre' ('The Way is Free'), wants the construction of the highway to be halted until all judicial decisions are made. Not all expropriations for farmers have been resolved. Opponents of the project argue that reprofiling the N126 would suffice for the planned 6,000 vehicles per day and would be much less costly. The A69 highway is projected to cost EUR512 million (in 2018 euros, excluding inflation) for 54 kilometers. More than 100 protected species and 400 hectares of agricultural fields will be destroyed.

The activist, political opponent, and accused in the so-called 'conspiracy against state security' case, Chaima Issa, chants slogans through a megaphone as others hold up photos of detained political opposition figures during a demonstration held by their relatives and families in front of the court in Tunis, Tunisia, on April 11, 2025. The demonstration supports the detainees during the second remote hearing of the court. The demonstrators demand a public trial and reject the remote trial previously decided by the court. They also protest against what they consider an unfair and invalid trial, calling for the release of the detainees and accusing the Tunisian president, Kais Saied, of using the judiciary to persecute those who reject his policies. In this context, professor and political opposition figure Jawhar Ben Mbarek, one of the most prominent detainees, is on hunger strike since March 30 in protest at his continued arbitrary detention. Since February, Tunisia sees a wave of arrests of journalists, activists, judges, businessmen, and politicians, including the leader of the Ennahda party, Rached Ghannouchi, who is detained since April 2023.
