In the House of Representatives elections held on March 5, the Rastriya Swatantra Party emerged as the largest party with 182 seats, followed by the Nepali Congress with 38 seats, CPN-UML with 25, Nepali Communist Party with 17, Shram Sanskriti Party with seven, and the Rastriya Prajatantra Party with five seats. Under the Proportionate Representation system, 57 lawmakers were elected from the Rastriya Swatantra Party, 20 from the Nepali Congress, 16 from the CPN-UML, nine from the Nepali Communist Party, and four each from the Shram Sanskriti Party and the Rastriya Prajatantra Party. The Election Commission announced the PR election results on March 16. Under the First-Past-the-Post system, the Rastriya Swatantra Party secured 125 seats, followed by the Nepali Congress with 19, CPN-UML with 9, Nepali Communist Party with 8, Shram Sanskriti Party with 3, Rastriya Prajatantra Party with 1, and one independent candidate. As per constitutional provisions, the House of Representatives, the lower house of the Federal Parliament, consists of a total of 275 members, including 165 elected through the FPTP system and 110 through the PR system.

Election officials set up a polling booth in Kathmandu, Nepal, on March 4, 2026, the eve of the Parliamentary elections, which come after the deadly Gen-Z protest of September 2025. In this election, the total number of voters is 10,893,689. Of them, 9,663,358 are male voters, 1,230,131 are female voters, and 200 belong to other genders. According to the Election Commission, there are 186,142 temporary voters. A total of 65 political parties contest under the first-past-the-post (direct) electoral system with 61 election symbols. Under the direct system, there are 3,017 male candidates and 388 female candidates. One candidate from the other gender also contests, bringing the total number of candidates under this system to 3,406. Similarly, under the proportional representation (PR) electoral system, 1,363 male and 1,772 female candidates make a total of 3,135 candidates in the race. Voting under the direct electoral system is held for 165 constituencies, while 110 seats are allocated under the PR system.

Similarly, under the proportional representation (PR) electoral system, 1,363 male and 1,772 female candidates make a total of 3,135 candidates in the race. Voting under the direct electoral system is held for 165 constituencies, while 110 seats are allocated under the PR system.

Election officials set up a polling booth in Kathmandu, Nepal, on March 4, 2026, the eve of the Parliamentary elections, which come after the deadly Gen-Z protest of September 2025. In this election, the total number of voters is 10,893,689. Of them, 9,663,358 are male voters, 1,230,131 are female voters, and 200 belong to other genders.
