The Swayambhunath Stupa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is seen from a hill station surrounding Kathmandu Valley after pre-monsoon rainfall reduces air pollution on March 22, 2026. Air pollution in the country, including the federal capital, Kathmandu, has declined significantly. The Air Quality Index (AQI) previously stood at 178, making Kathmandu the second most polluted city in the world a week ago. The AQI has now decreased to 60. An AQI measurement from 0 to 50 is considered 'good', while 51 to 100 'requires alertness'. Levels from 100 to 150 are 'unhealthy' for people with respiratory and heart diseases. An AQI from 151 to 200 is 'unhealthy for all', 201 to 300 is 'very unhealthy', and above 300 is 'very dangerous'.

A side-by-side demonstration of two Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra flagship smartphones (Model SM-S948) at the Samsung Display pavilion during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, on March 5, 2026. The device on the left is shown with the new Privacy Display (Flex Magic Pixel) mode disabled, maintaining a standard Dynamic AMOLED 2X wide viewing angle, while the device on the right has the privacy filter active, utilizing a specialized sub-pixel rendering to obscure the screen from side-axis viewing. Both devices are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor (3nm) and feature the revamped ProVisual Engine to manage the display's 2,600 nits peak brightness. The 6.9-inch screen on the Ultra model is protected by Corning Gorilla Armor 2, which works in tandem with the privacy technology to reduce reflections. The demonstration also highlights the S26 Ultra's quad-camera system, including the 200-megapixel main sensor with a wider f/1.4 aperture and the 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, as visitors test the software-based toggle that allows users to switch between maximum visibility and secure viewing for sensitive tasks like banking or messaging.

A specialized hybrid satellite smartphone, featuring a prominent integrated rectangular high-gain antenna, is demonstrated for mission-critical communications at the Satellite Pavilion during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, on March 5, 2026. This ruggedized terminal is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile platform, integrated with the Snapdragon X75 5G Modem-RF System, which supports 3GPP Release-17 Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) standards for satellite-to-phone connectivity. The device is equipped with a 50-megapixel primary camera sensor (f/1.9 aperture) and a secondary 8-megapixel thermal imaging sensor for industrial inspections in remote areas. The elongated rectangular antenna is specifically designed to facilitate dual-band communication with L-band and S-band satellite constellations, ensuring stable voice and high-speed data transmission even in environments without terrestrial cellular coverage. The demonstration highlights the device's IP68 water resistance and its ability to act as a portable Wi-Fi hotspot via satellite for other tactical devices in the field.
