Aljeksjej, a bakery owner, arrived with bread gifts for environmental protesters on May 14, 2021 near Arlamow, Carpathians mountains, south-eastern Poland. The Wild Carpathians Initiative continues its occupational protest against deforestation of the Turnicki area of Eastern Carpathian mountains. The group blocks entrances to strategic paths of cutting crews since the end of April when the National Forest resumed large-scale forest cuts under the Forest Management Plan. Activists argue that this area should not operate under the Plan but rather become a National Park. The activists base their argument on the age of the forest (some trees are 300 years old) and the biodiversity only possible to maintain in a naturally managed environment. The area is a home to wildlife species, such as bear, wolf, boar or deer as well as rare plants.

Vag, a man, starts a hunger strike in Toulouse, France, on June 11, 2025, in support of the 'Madleen' passengers and Gaza. People gather in Toulouse in support of the 'Madleen' flotilla after its illegal boarding by Israeli forces in international waters. Police push the gatherers and use tear gas canisters and pepper spray. Some members of the crew are still held in jail in Israel. The 'Madleen' aims to break the humanitarian blockade imposed by Israel on Gaza for nearly three months. On board are Swedish activist Greta Thunberg, Reva Viard, and Rima Hassan, an MP at the European Parliament. The ship carries humanitarian aid for Gaza. A man decides to begin a hunger strike until all captives of the 'Madleen' are freed and Israel ceases its blockade. Since the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, the Gaza Strip has been leveled and decimated by Israel: more than 55,000 are killed, and 100,000 are injured. The U.N. estimates that up to 2 million people in the Gaza Strip--or more than 85% of the population--are forced to flee Israel's devastating bombing campaign, and all people in Gaza face starvation. Civilians bear the brunt of Israeli killings.
