The ceremony - festival is called "Promithia" to honor Prometheus ancient Greek Religion God. People attended the torch relay and then to the local open theater for dances and theatrical plays until the rain forced them the participants to stop. In the past the ritual honored Alexander the Great. People arrived in Olympus mountain from all over Greece, Europe and the world. The ceremonies started in Dion with a chanting ritual for the holy fire that was transported on food about 10KM to Litohoro town. July 12, 2019
