Body-worn camera footage shows the man make a verbal threat to the officers, and a northbound L train pulls into the station. A door opens, and the man jumps inside. Police follow and fire a taser, which is ineffective in subduing the man. He then exits the train while it is still at the station and charges one of the officers with a knife. Both officers draw their weapons and fire at the man, striking him several times. The officers also strike two bystanders and one of the two cops.
