The Common Gull (Cepora nerissa) is a small to medium-sized butterfly of the family Pieridae, known for its yellow and white coloration. It is native to Sri Lanka, India, China, Southeast Asia, and Indonesia. The butterfly has a strong flight close to the ground, with a wingspan ranging from 40-65 mm. After a long flight, it rests on an exposed leaf or bush. They feed on flowers of Tridax procumbens, Sida rhombifolia, Alternanthera, and Lantana. A Common Gull butterfly, almost camouflaged, is seen drinking nutrients through its proboscis from moist mud and rotting neem (Azadirachta indica) leaves on colorful plastic bags while mud-puddling in Tehatta, West Bengal, India, on August 28, 2024

Lablab Purpureus Is A Species Of Bean In The Family Fabaceae. It Is Native To Sub-Saharan Africa And India And It Is Cultivated Throughout The Tropics For Food. English Language Common Names Include Hyacinth Bean, Lablab-bean, Bonavist Bean/pea, Dolichos Bean, Seim Or Sem Bean, Egyptian Kidney Bean, Indian Bean, Bataw And Australian Pea. It Is The Only Species In The Monotypic Genus Lablab. Hyacinth Is A Tropical Perennial Twining Plant That Requires A Trellis To Support Its Growth. It Continues To Grow As A Short-term Perennial As Long As Moisture And Weather Permits. Purple/white Flowers Appear In Clusters That Develop Into Flat, Thick, Slightly Curved Green Pods With Pointing Ends. Each Pod Normally Contains Two To Six Round Or Oval, Light Green, Cream, Black, Brown, Or Mottled Seeds. Irrigation Should Be Done As Needed During The Dry Season. Sometimes It Should Be Loosened With A Knife. When The Plant Is 15-20 Cm Tall; Then The Bamboo Tip Should Be Buried In The Ground Next To The Base Of The Mother Tree. Hyacinth Bean Is Very Low In Saturated Fat, Cholesterol And Sodium. It Is A Very Good Source Of Protein, Phosphorus, Potassium, Zinc And Copper.
