The continual rise in sea level due to Global warming is a major threat to the low-lying islands like Ghoramara. Over the last few decades, the island has lost almost 75% of its land and is now left with 3.3 Sq. Km area. The frequent cyclones and tidal floods in this region everyday swallow bits and pieces of this island and soon to be completely gulped by the outrageous sea.
