The people harvesting chickpeas with the mayor Fatih Mehmet Macoglu in Tunceli (Dersim), on August 10, 2022. The income to be obtained from the chickpea harvest is given to the students as a scholarship. The communist mayor of Tunceli (Dersim), Fatih Mehmet Macoglu, has made some radical changes in the city he has ruled with the people since he was elected mayor on March 31, 2019. He had the walls in front of the municipality demolished in order to remove the barriers between the public and the municipality and to give a more transparent appearance. He made the transportation with the municipal bus free of charge, reduced the water prices, said, "I was going to do it for free, but the law did not allow it". In 2015, while he was the mayor of Ovacık District, he distributed 650 decares of land belonging to the treasury to the public for use in agriculture.
