With a crown of flowers and typical costume, native women from Xochimilco, representatives of the Most Beautiful Flower of the Ejido from the different neighbourhoods and towns of the municipality in Mexico City, prior to their participation in a horseback ride aboard a carriage on the eve of the festivities for the Most Beautiful Flower of the Ejido. The objective of La Flor Más Bella del Ejido is to revalue the beauty of the mestizo women who live in Xochimilco, in addition to preserving and highlighting the origins of the towns that at some point in their history had or still have farmland or ejidos.
