The Law and Justice party ruled in Poland for 8 years until they lost the last election in October 2023. The party now becomes a right-wing opposition force against a more centrist and liberal ruling coalition, where the main political force is Civic Coalition led by Donald Tusk, former President of the Council of EU and now Prime Minister of Poland. Current Constitutional Court judges were sworn in by the PiS party. Both sides accuse each other of unconstitutional acts around the Constitutional Court.
