The 10th edition of the race, according to the coordinator, Tayo Popoola, aims to make people happy, change lives, reconnect, network, seek more opportunities in life, and add value, rather than focusing on monetary gains.

NYPD police are at the scene where a 29-year-old man is shot in the head and body overnight at 928 Coney Island Avenue within the confines of the 70th precinct in Brooklyn, New York, United States, on September 4, 2025. The shooting transpires on Wednesday evening, and the man is taken to Maimonides Medical Center, where he is originally listed in critical condition. Neighbors say that the location may be a homeless shelter, but police have not confirmed that. Detectives say they are still working to determine whether the man is targeted or an innocent bystander, and if he has any connection to the address. Police find numerous shell casings at the scene. Large amounts of blood are also discovered at the shooting scene. Investigators collect evidence into evidence bags at the scene. There are no suspects in custody.
