80th Anniversary Of The Roundup Of Rome's Jewish Ghetto
Victor Fadlun, the President of the Jewish Community of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, the Mayor of Rome, and Riccardo Di Segni, the Chief Rabbi of the Jewish Community of Rome, are commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Rome Ghetto raid on October 16, 1943, in Rome, Italy, on October 16, 2023. The Gestapo initially captured 1,259 members of the Jewish community, including 363 men, 689 women, and 207 children. Of these, 1,023 were deported to the Auschwitz concentration camp.
