Russian drone hits maternity hospital in Odesa
A man walks among glass shards and debris in a corridor at Maternity Hospital No. 5, which was hit by a drone in Odesa, Ukraine, on March 28, 2026. On the night of March 28, a UAV struck the hospital, which housed 22 newborn babies, including critically low-birth-weight twins. The hospital's bomb shelter, equipped with intensive care facilities for newborns, allowed ventilation to continue there. Postoperative patients were transferred to the intensive care unit in the shelter. Before rescuers arrived, doctors used fire hoses and extinguishers to put out fires in the building and on the roof. As a result of the night's events in the city, two people were killed and at least 12 were injured, including a nine-year-old boy. (Photo by Nina Liashonok/Ukrinform/NurPhoto) NO USE RUSSIA.
